On November 15 we have two important projects to show you: The Fledge’s Coding Club and Building Twentyone’s fire restoration. Each presenter will talk about their project. $5 at the door gives you a vote for the project of your choice. At the end of the night, the project with the most votes takes home the money as a SoupGrant!
You don’t just get a vote! We will provide a FREE meal of an array of delicious, homemade soups, salad, and bread! There are always vegan and vegetarian options available, too.
Attendees should bring a bowl and spoon for soup and a friend or two!
About the Presenters
The Fledge is an inclusive space that melds technology, art, and entrepreneurship. They host a free, family-and-all-ages-friendly Coding Club for anyone who wants to learn how to code or help others learn. They are building a library of code and circuit designs for ‘internet of things’ devices to keep pace with the growth of their club. Any budget will be dedicated to Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, and sensors.
Building Twentyone helps teenagers develop positive habits and values by giving them a safe, constructive place to drop in after school. They offer tutoring, a large space for safe party alternatives, workspaces for homework and projects, and the only indoor skate park within 75 miles of Lansing, Michigan. On October 14, their building burned down and now they’re looking to rebuild.
