December 20 is our 2nd annual Holiday Grant!

This month — December 20th to be exact — we’re celebrating our second annual Holiday Grant. Bring along some friends and family and tell them what’s special about this month at SoupGrant!

Potluck and Prizes

Instead of our usual soup buffet, we are inviting everyone to participate in a macaroni and dessert potluck. Bring your favorite macaroni and cheese or dessert to share and who knows, you may win a prize! We’re giving a little something to the most delicious macaroni dish, most delicious dessert, and the most unique across both dishes.

Bring a Stocking Stuffer

Instead of presenters, we’ll have stockings for everyone to stuff. One each for:

  1. Building Twentyone
  2. SoupGrant kitchen supplies

WHAT’S UP NEXT:  September 20th Anniversary Soup!
We will be back and ready to Rock and Roll on September 20th for our 6th Anniversary Celebration!  WOW- 6 YEARS!  There will be surprises and prizes… and as a sneak preview- think “Fall Tailgate!” 🙂

We wish you an enjoyable last month of summer!  Please spread the word for the September event, and put it on your calendar!
As always, thanks for all you do to support our community by supporting SoupGrant!

About our presenters

City Outreach

City Outreach serves the homeless population in Lansing. They offer a wide range of services to the homeless and working poor, including free laundry, rides, overflow housing from other agencies, and meals. They feed 75-100 people per sitting, 5 days a week. They also run a free clothing store and offer space to other outreach organizations in the community that need a place to meet. In addition to their outreach to the homeless population, they offer free shoveling and lawn care for the disabled and shut in populations in Lansing. This is a work readiness program for the homeless population, to offer them a chance to serve their community and earn some money at the same time.

The Street Team

The Street Team goes out into the community to connect with homeless, street and at-risk youth. They provide youth with hygiene products, clothing, blankets, and referrals to services. If a youth wants to go into shelter or receive services, the Street Team transports them to the Kevin J. Moody Youth Home or another shelter.
